Writing Plot

Crafting and having the knowledge on how to Write a play is a gift bestowed on few individuals. Many people are born with the required imagination and creativity, but very seldom take the next step to actually go ahead and begin writing a play.

Plays can be wonderful for those that watch and interact with them, they spark peoples emotions, bring them into the world that the playwright or script writer (you) has created for them, and hopefully immerse and hypnotize your audience into a storyline that has them gripped until the final curtain falls. You drive the storyline, that is where your power and influence as the playwright shows. At the end of the day, what your audience experiences is all down to you and your creation.

Writing a play should be fun for you, if it seems like a chore or you are distracted by other elements a little to easily, it may not be for you as it takes great determination and commitment to create something that people want to see.

Initially, you need to generate a plot that will be the basis of your play. Injection of interesting characters and plot lines come next, ensuring the characters and plots are interesting for your intended audience and tying it all together won't come the first time. You will rewrite, shift plot lines, change direction, add or alter characters or even decide to rewrite the whole thing again from scratch. It is not something that is usually achieved in one sitting to get it exactly the way you want it to be, but this is the very nature of imagination.
