Write Louder! (How To Write …?)

The entity code for tab won't work in my HTML. Why?

I'm writing an HTML tutorial and (ironically) have come up against a problem. To make the example code easier to read I'd like to indent it and obviously tabs wouldn't show up so I looked up the entity code for it, but it doesn't work. Just the simple following doesn't indent at all (I've had to put spaces in between the characters for it to show up in this q):

There are so many ways to get what you want indented, but, if you are coding properly, this should work ok for you:

p {
text-indent: 3em;
}

That will indent ALL paragraphs by 3em. You can chose another dimension or value for the indentation. You can even use percents. If you want only certain paragraphs to have the indent, then set a class for them:

p.in_dent {
text-indent: 3em;
}

Then each paragrapgh where you want it indented will look like this:

... blah blah ...

Or you could use bare (no styling) blockquote tags to indent a block of text within a paragraph.
